Our history
The Agricultural Establishment “Signorello” located on the extreme South-Eastern part of Sicily, in the area called “Cuffara”, stretch of land situated close to “l’Isola dei Correnti”, in the territory of Portopalo di Capo Passero, the production area of the PGI tomatoes of Pachino.
The climatic – environmental conditions, the peculiarities of the soil of this territory, and the special cultivation techniques, refined over half a century by the owner Giovanni, give our fruit and vegetable products the unique organoleptic, morphological and health- conscious qualities; qualities for which our establishment recently received approval for admission as a member to the Consortium for the protection of the PGI tomato of Pachino.
Our production includes various vegetable products, among which, the famous “ciliegino” tomato, the “tondo liscio” tomato, the “datterino” tomato, the “retato” cantaloupe melon and the Crimson Sweet watermelon. The cutting edge is the ribbed “marinda” tomato, unique for its characteristic flower shape, juicy with an intense flavour and its particular crispness.
Our products, after being harvested, are processed and packaged in the warehouse, located in a central area of the establishment. The rapidity with which our vegetables are worked and transported by vehicles fitted with sophisticated equipment, maintain and guarantee the organoleptic qualities and exceptional freshness and shelf life of the product.
